Kurt Markus is notorious for his western style photographs. In this picture there is a rancher with a horse and dog on the plains, somewhere in the west. While most people don't understand the importance of farmers Kurt thought it was important to showcase them. This is a classic black and while picture of a man with his sunglasses on, hard at work. It has some beautiful scenery with the classic western style mountains in the back. While this picture is simple and the average lifestyle for that time, it is unique now. Even though the overall mood of the photo is not happy, it is also not sad, it is more of a content feeling. The vertical mountain lines make the picture relaxing and calming. This is just one of the many beautiful photographs taken by the amazing Kurt Markus.
